Mismanagement of Africa’s Resources

It looks like most African leaders share the same common interest. Majority of Africans are poor, but a majority of the lands are rich. Africa is the worlds wealthiest continent with the worlds poorest people; all because of our leaders. The leaders that we have put in charge of our resources. It’s that simple. The leaders are in charge of our resources. How are they managing our resources? Don’t you think as an African youth, you deserve to know how your leader is managing your resources?

For decades, we have been going into a vicious cycle that’d been yielding the same results that doesn’t seem to be solving our problems as a continent. Leaders in Africa are not held accountable and there is no transparency in the way in which our resources are managed. This is clearly manifested even in our institutions, particularly the public institutions. What do you think should be done?

Why do we keep electing them? How can this chain of poverty be eliminated for a better image of Africa to the outside world? We at MyJamano do think it’s leadership problem. Do you think the same or do you see it as mismanagement issue?

  1. I do not even know the way I stopped up right here, however I believed this publish used to be good. I do not understand who you might be but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger should you are not already 😉 Cheers!

  2. The problem is far more than African leaders, thou leadership is governance is biggest obstacle to our deployment . I believe that those holding offices , religious and moral positions in the society are responsible for enabling the situation to persist and being emboldened by the level of illiteracy , corruption in public institutions. Our individual attitudes and mindset have to change to work for the common good.

    1. I couldn’t agree more with you Mr Tunkara. This change of mindset is indeed a personal process. But how do you expect a person to change his/her mindset when they are very well convinced that what they are doing is right, or at least doesn’t affect those they’re responsible for, as long as their wants and desires are being fulfilled?

  3. I think the root of all African problems emirates from poor management. Irrespective of how smart we Africans may think we are, we will never progress if we do not tackle mismanagement problems. It even get worse when mismanagement is combined with greed.

  4. For a start I think my country’s leaders are not managing our resources well. I think they lack the understanding of what a leader is and what management really is

  5. I think most African leaders only think of their stomach and those of their political members. They do not care about the pollution forgetting we voted for them. Democracy is killing us. We demand and deserve to know how they are managing our resources
